Poole Athlete: Inside the Paralympic Village
George Rogers plays Wheelchair Rugby for Great Britain and, despite not making the cut for the Paralympics, is attending the games thanks to the Paralympic Inspiration Programme.
The initiative, which was first launched in London 2012, gives athletes and coaching staff the opportunity to experience several days at a Paralympic Games. It aims to provide developing athletes with knowledge that will prepare them for a future Games as a selected athlete, as well as inspire them to qualify.
George is from Poole, like Paralympic swimmer Alice Tai, and he shared a coincidental link between the two athletes.
