Huge reservoirs of water deep inside Mars
Our science correspondent Victoria Gill explains the vast reservoir found deep in the Red Planet's rocks.
The Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ's science correspondent Victoria Gill remembers well the moment in 2018 when the US space agency Nasa landed a new robot on Mars.
Its mission on the surface of the planet formally ended two years ago, and scientists have spent the time since then poring through the data it sent back.
Their latest discovery is pretty stunning: a vast reservoir of liquid water, deep in the rocky outer crust of the planet.
In this episode of the 5 Questions On podcast, Victoria tells the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ's Michael Daventry how they discovered it – and what it means for those hoping to explore Mars further.
