Olympics: "I'd love the sport to be a bit fairer"
Emma Wilson looked to be the favourite going into the final of the women's windsurfing event in Marseille. The Olympian, from Christchurch, was superior enough in the qualifying rounds to earn herself a fast-track to the final race.
This might have worked against her, however, since her opponents had further qualification races to familiarise themselves with the course. Wilson cited taking the wrong line as the prognosis for her defeat to Italy's Marta Maggetti and Israel's Sharon Kantor.
Emma finished third and took home the bronze medal despite scoring significantly better than any other female windsurfer in Marseille. She's been speaking to Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Radio Solent's Steve Harris.
