South Sudan: Ex-child soldier Kululu writes a letter to his sons
βYou can use your gun as an ATM, to withdraw money.β
Kululu was a child soldier but now uses his first-hand experience to help his community bridge divides and help kids be kids by creating positive change through storytelling for our Life in Lulu radio drama in South Sudan.
This storyline remains relevant as the region still faces localised conflict, intercommunal violence, and a growing humanitarian crisis from the war in neighbouring #Sudan β and children are still being recruited to fight.
In February 2021, there were estimated to be between 7,000 and 19,000 #ChildSoldiers in the country.
The next series of Life in Lulu focuses on gender-based and intimate partner violence to show different solutions and alternatives to help create gender equality for women and girls.
