Rishi Sunak has apologised after he left the D-Day 80th anniversary commemorations in France early to return to the UK. He attended the British service of remembrance in Normandy but left before the international event, which was attended by US President Joe Biden, French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.
