SEN speed-dating: 'It's about knowing what life can have in store for you'
A Scunthorpe cafe will host a new speed dating event for singles with special educational needs.
Cafe Indie aims to provide a classic speed dating experience, but with adjustments to make it more accessible. The mini-dates will be longer than the standard speedy three or four minutes - and there will be fun activities to ease any initial awkwardness.
It's billed as speed dating for "dates, mates and best friends forever".
Marc Device, one of the organisers behind the event, said he was inspired to set it up when he noticed the lack of spaces for people with SEN to "access love".
20-year-old Jack Broderick is taking part. He says he is excited - albeit a little nervous.
"If you find love, then good for you - but it's also about meeting new people, making friends... maybe finding love. It's all about life really." Jack told 5 Live Drive.
