5 Live listeners have been sharing their thoughts on Labour’s plans to add VAT to private school fees.

Labour says it will use the money raised, thought to be around Β£1.5bn, to pay for one of its key pledges to recruit 6,500 more state school teachers.

The Conservatives say Labour is punishing hard-working parents.

Around 6-7% of children in the UK attend private school, with average fees around Β£15,200 a year.

Nicky Campbell spoke to listeners about their thoughts on the policy.
