The actor and disability rights campaigner Liz Carr is fronting a new Â鶹ԼÅÄ documentary: Better off Dead? It explores the topic of the legalisation of assisted dying. Currently, laws throughout the UK prevent people from asking for medical help to die.

Liz joined Clare McDonnell on Â鶹ԼÅÄ Radio 4's Woman’s Hour to explain why she finds the possibility of law changes ‘terrifying’.

She said that a change in the law could leave marginalised people – including some of those with disabilities or illnesses – at much greater risk. Liz told Clare that until inequality is reduced, she doesn’t think any amount of safeguards would prevent mistakes, abuse and coercion from taking place.
