Down to earth gardening advice on growing your own fruit and vegetables with allotment gardener Terry Walton, from his plot in the Rhondda Valley.
It's time for some pleasurable planting in the greenhouse with two favourite crops - tomatoes and cucumbers. Terry has advice on the best compost mix to ensure successful crops. He explains his technique for sturdy tomato plants with the use of bottomless buckets and getting the best out of thirsty cucumber plants by using rooter pots. He has a mathematical theory on the best angle to place your tomato canes and advice on the best position in the greenhouse to make sure the plants cohabitate comfortably.
