Poole venue closes leaving bride in the lurch
Poole bride to be finds out her wedding venue has shut via social media.
Anne was due to get married at Poole Quay Hotel on the 15th of June. This week, her neighbour rang her to alert her to the news, and a quick check on social media confirmed that the hotel was shutting down with immediate effect.
By the time of interview, Anne told us she had no official correspondence from Poole Quay Hotel.
BCP Council has confirmed that planning permission for 'demolition of the existing hotel building and redevelopment for 179 residential apartments and a hotel' was approved by members of the BCP planning committee last August. Anne had been assured by the hotel that no bookings would be affected before 2025.
However they say "The resolution to grant planning permission was subject to a βSection 106β legal agreement, which is required in order to secure various planning obligations that are required to make the development acceptable. BCP Councilβs legal team are currently working with the applicants representatives to agree and finalise this agreement. It must be completed, signed and sealed prior to the planning decision being issued in full."
