Rare access inside Sudan's forgotten war

Up close reporting of a conflict that is destroying millions of lives

Since conflict broke out in April 2023, it has been almost impossible for international media to report from Sudan. In that time, stories of horrific violence and sexual violence have been told by hundreds of thousands of people who have fled the country.

Feras Kilani, the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Arabic special correspondent, has just returned from Sudan, where he got a rare insight into life in the country. Mercy Juma, the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Africa correspondent also tells Lyse Doucet about the survivors of ethnic violence and sexual assault she met in Chad, the neighbouring country where hundreds of thousands have fled.

The Global Story brings you trusted insights from Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ journalists around the world. We want your ideas, stories and experiences to help us understand and tell The Global Story.
