US economy grows more than expected

The US economy ended 2023 more strongly than expected. Sam Fenwick finds out what today's figures tell us about how US consumers are feeling.

The US economy is growing faster than expected, according to figures released in the last couple of hours.

Although the pace of economic growth slowed towards the end of last year, it still grew at an overall rate of 3.3%. That was well above the 2% that was predicted.

Consumer spending remains strong and helping to drive that growth.
