Japan Airlines survivor on the moment his plane burst into flames
Earlier this week, Swedish citizen Anton Deibe was on a family holiday in Japan to celebrate his father's 50th birthday. Everything felt totally normal as his flight, Japan Airways Flight 516, approached Tokyo. He and his sister were marvelling at the lights of the city but then came the shock... The Airbus A350, which was carrying 379 people, collided with a second plane while landing in Tokyo.
Then came heat and smoke as the jet sped along the runway in flames. People scrambled to flee the cabin filling with fumes. Everyone on Japan Airlines flight 516 managed to escape. Experts say a flawless evacuation and new technology played a large part in their survival. But five of the six people on board the smaller coastguard plane, died.
Anton has been describing his ordeal to OS's Lukwesa Burak.
