Wedding planning and listening to audiobooks are usually what you would do within the comfort of your own home, but for Preet Chandi they helped her through freezing temperatures during her record ski expedition to the South Pole.

The British Army officer already holds two world records for Antarctic trekking and she鈥檚 now become the world鈥檚 fastest woman to complete a solo unsupported ski expedition to the South Pole.

鈥淧olar Preet鈥�, as she is also known, skied for 12 to 13 hours a day, covering 1,130km (702 miles) of Antarctic ice in 31 days, 13 hours and 19 minutes whilst pulling a 75kg sled, which contained everything she needed to survive.
