The Government has issued long-awaited guidance for schools in England on how to deal with children who are questioning their gender identity. The guidelines -- which had been promised for 2018 -- focus on what's called "social transitioning" -- when children want to change their names, uniform, or pronouns. But there is no general duty for schools and colleges to allow transitioning, and parents should, in most cases, be involved in decision making.
