Lions rescued from Sudan's conflict zone
Millions of people have fled the fighting in Sudan over the last seven months, which has affected almost every area of life.
Throughout this time, more than 30 animals - including lions, hyenas and wild cats - were stranded at the Sudan Animal Rescue centre, on the outskirts of Khartoum.
The animals had previously been saved by concerned Sudanese - including our guest, Osman Salih - having suffered from neglect during Sudan's prolonged economic crisis.
Now the lions have been whisked away to safety crossing frontlines to get them to safety as Osman, otherwise known as the 'Lion Man of Sudan', told Newsday.
"It took months of planning and it was a huge risk for the team to enter this conflict zone."
