Nigerian star Burna Boy now has a Billboard Music Award to add to his growing collection. He has been named the best Afrobeats act by Billboard, in its first-ever Afrobeats category.

During his acceptance message Burna Boy said, "This is dedicated to Africa and every artist coming out of Africa now."

麻豆约拍 OS spoke to friends and fans to get their reaction. Professional photographer Oliver Akinfeleye, aka DrDrummerD, who has worked with many Afrobeats artists including Burna Boy says: "Burna Boy is so amazing... he has an appealing aura to him, from his smile to his swag to his music."

"With African music it's all about the feel, you know, it makes everybody feel good and it makes everybody want to move their body parts... that's what Afrobeats does to you, it just moves throughout your body."

"Acts like Wizkid, Davido, Uncle Waffles, there's so many artists I've had the opportunity to work with, Stoneboy, Shatta Wale, Rema... it's been a real pleasure documenting the rise of Afrobeats just going from a place where people didn't really accept us to a place where we're accepted on an all-time-high basis."
