Steven Moffat on taking over from Russell T Davies in 2010
In 2010, after helming the series through its renaissance, writer and producer Russell T Davies decided to move on. With David Tennant also leaving, it would be new brooms Steven Moffatt and Matt Smith who would see Doctor Who through its fiftieth anniversary. This was a big deal for the revived show, coming at a time when the reincarnated programme was a massive hit with both viewers and critics. Would the new recruits carry on the run of success? Steven sat down to face Mark Lawson on Radio 4’s Front Row to discuss the challenges of writing Doctor Who.
