Israel Gaza war: UNICEF says children are the first victims of war
UNICEF spokesman says more than 720 Palestinian children have been killed and that it is unclear the number of Israeli children killed and held hostage since October 7th.
The UN children's agency has warned that some people in the Gaza Strip are being forced to drink dirty water as the territory is running out of clean supplies for drinking.
A spokesman for UNICEF in Jerusalem, Jonathan Crickx, told the 鶹Լ that untreated water could spread water-borne diseases and called for an immediate ceasefire “for the sake of the children”.
He told Newsday: “The latest figure I have is more than 720 Palestinian children killed…in addition we have to remember that on the 7th October, we don’t know exactly the number of Israeli children who were killed…and we still have an unknown number of Israeli children held hostage…Children are usually and unfortunately the first victims in war but this is incredibly true in what we have been seeing since the 7th October.”
