The executive responsible for the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ's editorial guidelines has defended the corporation's decision not to describe Hamas fighters as "terrorists". The long-standing policy has come under criticism from both the government and opposition parties -- with the defence secretary Grant Shapps saying it "verges on disgraceful". But David Jordan said it was designed to prevent accusations of bias, and keep the trust of audiences.
