Douglas Ross: New UK funding will improve Scottish towns
Prime Minister Rishi Sunak has announced Β£20m in funding for each of the 55 most "overlooked" towns in the UK.
Seven towns in Scotland are set to benefit. Clydebank, Coatbridge, Dumfries, Elgin, Greenock, Irvine and Kilmarnock have been named among the beneficiaries of the Β£1bn of funding direct from Westminster.
Douglas Ross said the local authorities are best placed to ensure the investment goes where it is needed.
The leader of the Scottish Conservatives told Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Scotland's The Sunday Show that the announcement made during the Tory party conference was not intended to undermine the Scottish government.
