Nadiya Hussain: ‘I'm not just flying my own flag here, I get to fly my mum's, my grandma's’
Nadiya Hussain’s new book is a love letter to her grandma and mum, who taught her how to cook.
She joined Anita Rani on Â鶹ԼÅÄ Radio 4’s Woman’s Hour and explained why she felt it was so important to celebrate the women who come before us, who she says are often overlooked completely.
Her cookbook, Simple Spices, is based around eight spices that her mum and grandma use, and is the first time she’s focused on recipes from her Bangladeshi heritage.
Nadiya told Anita why it was so important to highlight their cooking and the impact they had on her, including teaching her to be tough and resilient.
