Nureldin Satti: Sudan threatened by civil war
The conflict in Sudan could see the country experience a famine, warns Nureldin Satti.
The former Sudanese ambassador to the United States says the imminent failure of agriculture in the country may see the country fall into further peril.
The country has seen a conflict break out in the country between the leader of Sudanβs armed forces, General Burhan, and the leader of the RSF militia, known as Hemedti.
The two men had been part of a council running the country, but seized control last year when they removed a transitional civilian government.
The conflict between the two armed groups has seen fighting in Sudanβs capital Khartoum, reports of human rights abuses and warnings of ethnic cleansing.
βThe whole of Sudan is threatened by a civil war if this war does not end in the near near future,β said Mr Satti.
