It's been a frustrating and confusing time for many passengers stranded in airports in the UK and abroad. So what are your rights if your flight's been disrupted?
It's the ultimate nightmare for travellers. Not just to be stuck at an airport for hours, or even days, on end - but to have no clue as to when you might be on the move and whether you might be compensated.
But that's the reality for many thousands of passengers after more than a quarter of UK flights were cancelled on Monday's late August Bank Holiday in England, Wales and Northern Ireland. A technical issue hit the UK air traffic control system causing widespread chaos.
So why have flights been disrupted? And what are your rights?
