Who is coming to the UK as a long-term migrant - and how are the numbers worked out?
More than 1.2 million people came into the country to stay for more than 12 months in 2022. As only 560,000 left the country, this means net migration is at an all-time high. Both the Prime Minister and Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Secretary have said the number of people coming needs to come down. But who counts as an immigrant? How are the figures worked out?
