When former child soldier Baba rescues Freddy from a sexual assault, something dark is ignited inside them.

Baba, a nightclub toilet attendant, meets the magnetic Freddy as she stumbles into the gents with her date, Simon. There’s an immediate connection between the two of them.

DS Lola Franks has been partnered with new squad member DI Jackson Mendy. Franks is wary of the new arrival, who is a homicide novice and worked previously in anti-corruption. But Jackson is determined to win Lola over as they get stuck into the first case, a man found handcuffed to his bed and stabbed in the back of his neck.
