West Ham: Ashton on Tevez, Mascherano and retiring due to injury
Former England striker Dean Ashton speaks to Chris Kamara and Ben Shephard about his time at West Ham United and having to retire at the age of 26 due to injury.
Ashton broke his left ankle while training with England in 2006. He underwent several operations but was unable to return to full fitness and followed medical advice to retire three years later.
During his time with the Hammers, Ashton scored 15 goals in 46 league appearances after joining them from Norwich in a Β£7.25m move.
