Donald Trump's day in court

The former US president was accused of falsifying records to conceal crimes in the almost hour-long hearing.

We knew Donald Trump had been charged with a crime - now we know exactly what the former US president is actually facing. The main accusation is that he "repeatedly and fraudulently falsified New York business records to conceal criminal conduct that hid damaging information from the voting public during the 2016 presidential election". He pleaded not guilty to all 34 felony criminal charges.

In the New York court room, Trump sat silently throughout almost the entire proceedings. He only spoke when he was required to, either by pleading not guilty or by answering to the judge when addressed directly. He was fingerprinted but not handcuffed or subject to a mug shot.

For 5 Minutes On, the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ's North America Correspondent, Nada Tawfik, takes us through this historic day.
