Stratford War Hero medal appeal
Squadron Leader Arthur Scarf, whose name appears on a Stratford Upon Avon war memorial, was awarded the Victoria Cross for his efforts during the Second World War.
The Royal Air Force Museum is fundraising to keep the medal in the UK. Scarf’s Victoria Cross was one of only twenty-two awarded to the RAF in the Second World War and the only such award made to the RAF for service in the Far East during the War.
Dr Harry Raffal is Head of Collections and Research at the museum and joined Vic Minett to tell her more about Arthur Scarf.
