Goliath frog: The 'human-sized frog' that's under threat of extinction

The world's largest frog - the so-called Goliath frog - is under threat. It is mainly found in Cameroon and Equatorial Guinea where it has been over-hunted for food and the pet trade.

Its habitat near rivers and streams is being destroyed and the frog is now classified as endangered on the official extinction Red List.

The frog is little-known to science; even in its native Cameroon, many local people are unaware of its value to the ecosystem, such as preying on the insects that damage crops.

Cedrick Fogwan is from the Goliath Team Conservation group in Cameroon. He told the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ more about the world's largest frog.
