Haiti's women's national team have qualified for the World Cup. They beat Chile 2-1 in a play-off match in New Zealand to book their spot.

Melchie Dumonay scored twice for the Haitians. It is the first time Haiti have ever qualified for a World Cup.

Newsroom spoke to ESPN women's football journalist Sophie Lawson about Haiti's remarkable achievement. She says, "It's massive, we all know Haiti's not necessarily the biggest country and not one with a rich footballing history. But what they've got is a very impressive generation of players."

"They're young players, they play with a lot of freedom, a lot of joy... to actually get through to the play-offs and to play well and to dispatch with a far more experienced team in Chile is just huge" says Ms Lawson.

Haiti will now face the reigning European champions England along with China and Denmark, in group D at the tournament in Australia and New Zealand, which starts on 20 July.
