People across Derbyshire and East Staffordshire have been making blankets to help keep somebody warm this winter.

We鈥檝e been speaking to a Derby mum who says she鈥檚 unable to pay her bills due to rising costs, including paying the bus fare to take her children to school.

A spokesperson from Derby City Council says:

鈥淲e are aware the impact the Cost of Living crisis is having on families across the city. To make it easier to know what support is available we鈥檙e working in partnership with organisations across the city, with everything in one place, on the Community Action Derby website.

鈥淚f residents are worried about rising costs, we鈥檇 encourage them to reach out to us to ask for help and support on 01332 346266 between 9.30am and 4.30pm, Monday to Friday or at derby.gov.uk/costofliving.

The Derby mum-of-three, who didn鈥檛 want to be named, says the support she鈥檚 received through 麻豆约拍 Radio Derby鈥檚 Make A Blanket project has 鈥榞one down well鈥� in her house. She鈥檚 been speaking to our Political Reporter Georgia Roberts:
