Albanian migrants: What's behind the rise in numbers to the UK?

There has been a huge rise in the number of Albanian migrants arriving in Britain.

So far this year, 12,000 Albanians arrived in small boats, up from 800 in 2021 and 50 in 2020. Of those who have arrived this year, 10,000 are said to be single men, according to the ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ Office.

But what is behind the rise? This film examines whether criminal gangs are targeting Albanians leading some to claim they are 'gaming the system.'

Critics say the Modern Slavery Act, Theresa May's signature policy is being abused by migrants to stay in Britain. But does the evidence support these claims?

International Correspondent Joe Inwood reports.
