Nicotine pouches: βA wild west of regulationβ
As nicotine pouches become more popular, there are growing concerns that theyβre being marketed at young people.
Theyβve been described by some people as the best way to stop smoking. Nicotine pouches have only been around for a few years, but many already said theyβre the reason why theyβve been able to quit.
But there are growing concerns that thereβs not enough regulation for the new product, which are, like all other nicotine products, addictive. The biggest nicotine pouch brands are owned by big tobacco companies, and there are accusations that theyβre deliberately targeting their products at teenagers and young people, leading many to become addicted to their products.
For the latest episode of 5 Minutes On, ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ Correspondent Graham Satchell meets nicotine pouches and asks whether more regulation is needed.
