Ukraine war: Split opinions and alternative histories among Russians at home and abroad
Hear from one pro-war and one anti-war Russian woman in conversation.
As the war in Ukraine continues, many questions are being asked about what its outcome may be.
Whilst Russia's air attacks have been brutal, Ukrainian troops have continued to progress after breaking through Russian defences in the southern Kherson region.
Hear from two Russian women with completely opposing views on the war.
Valentina is in Moscow while her daughter and grandson are in the UK. She largely supports the war and Putin's recent decision to mobilise reservists. She told her grandson if he got called up he should "do his duty."
Kseniya, is also from Moscow but currently lives in London with her family, and is anti-war. She was shocked by Valentina's opinion, and says the war "has to end, immediately. It just has to end."
You'll hear Valentina first - reflecting on the recent mobilisation.
