Lebanon bank hold ups: 'These are desperate cries for help'

Lebanon is in a severe economic crisis, with people struggling to afford food and medicine.

Banks have enforced tight restrictions on cash withdrawals, which has led to a string of bank hold ups by customers demanding access to their frozen savings.

Authorities have condemned the attacks, saying citizens should not take the law into their own hands - but many in the country disagree.

Paula and Michael are two Lebanese citizens who view the hold ups as understandable. "This is what happens," Michael says, "when you have rotten politicians."
