Hundreds of thousands of Somalis - many trapped by conflict - are facing the prospect of famine. Government officials say international aid needs to arrive immediately.

Hundreds of thousands of Somalis – many trapped by conflict – are facing the prospect of famine. Young children are dying in growing numbers and government officials have told the ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ that a far greater β€œcatastrophe” could sweep across the country within days or weeks unless more international aid arrives immediately. The ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ's Africa correspondent Andrew Harding covered Somalia’s last famine, in 2011. Now, for 5 Minutes On, he reports from Baidoa, a city now at the heart of the worst drought to hit the country for forty years.
