Hundreds of thousands of Somalis - many trapped by conflict - are facing the prospect of famine. Government officials say international aid needs to arrive immediately.
Hundreds of thousands of Somalis β many trapped by conflict β are facing the prospect of famine. Young children are dying in growing numbers and government officials have told the ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ that a far greater βcatastropheβ could sweep across the country within days or weeks unless more international aid arrives immediately. The ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ's Africa correspondent Andrew Harding covered Somaliaβs last famine, in 2011. Now, for 5 Minutes On, he reports from Baidoa, a city now at the heart of the worst drought to hit the country for forty years.
