What is borderline personality disorder?
According to the World Health Organization, up to 6% of the global population have various forms of personality disorders, and these conditions affect more women than men. Twenty-five year old Tshimologo Molebatsi lives with borderline personality disorder – a mental health condition often characterised by extreme bouts of anger or sadness, with episodes lasting for hours, days or even longer in some cases. Initially diagnosed with depression and anxiety eight years ago, Tshimi says being additionally diagnosed with a personality disorder has helped her finally come to terms with her mental health. The Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ’s Pauline Odhiambo reports.
