Pakistan floods: Concerns over food supply in Ghizer
The disaster in Pakistan continues to unfold in what has been described by the UN secretary general as a "monsoon on steroids". The devastation has left millions homeless, destroyed buildings, bridges and roads and left vast swathes of the country under water.
As efforts continue to evacuate and help those affected by the immediate situation, a look to the future also paints a bleak picture for food supply, amongst other concerns. Shaista Madad, currently a PhD student at Cambridge University, shares what she knows about her home town in the Ghizer district in the north of Pakistan.
