An Essex haulier has lost between Β£50,000 to Β£100,000 in turnover due to Just Stop Oil protestors tunnelling under a road in West Thurrock, Grays.
Thurrock Council tell us they're working with Essex Police on the matter. Essex Police say:
"On Sunday night, we responded to reports of a protest on St Clements Way in Grays, where eight people were arrested. Following a risk assessment, the road was closed until around 3am this morning (29 August).
It was agreed by the Strategic Co-ordination Group (SCG) to limit vehicle access to the St Clements Way area.
A partial road closure at Saint Clements Way allowed priority traffic to enter the industrial area. To ensure the integrity and safety of the road, all other vehicular traffic was asked to avoid the area."
