Exiled: Rupal Rajani presents
An emotional exploration of what happened when broadcaster Rupal Rajani and her family were forced to flee Uganda in 1972.
Rupal speaks to her older siblings for the first time about coming to England; she looks at how the trauma of what happened has impacted on her life and the lives of others and she tells the story through food, language and the eyes of women impacted by the expulsion.
She also compares the experiences of Ugandan Asians with others forced to flee their homelands and seek refuge in England. Hear a taster of the six-part series Exiled in which Rupal goes on a personal and at times difficult journey.
