Treatment of Uyghurs is βa genocideβ, says activist
The Chinese governmentβs treatment of the Uyghur population in its western province of Xinjiang amounts to genocide, the chairperson of the United States Commission on International Religious Freedom has told the ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ.

Several countries, including the US, has previously accused China of committing genocide in Xinjiang.
The Chinese government has denied all allegations of genocide in Xinjiang.
Mr Turkel was born in Xinjiang but fled to America in his early 20s and is now a US citizen.
