Maternal health awareness

Besides facing stigma and discrimination in the community, pregnant, disabled women often endure unfriendly healthcare providers and structural challenges such as lack of wheel chair ramps and special delivery beds. A combination of factors make their pregnancies and delivery risky and sometimes fatal. Josephine Mwende, a cerebral palsy patient, spoke to the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ's Mercy Kandie on her journey to motherhood.
