Sauvages ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ Music Introducing session

The Evesham/Pershore duo perform an exclusive session at our Virtual Nozstock takeover.

Based in Evesham and Pershore, Sauvages music fuses alternative and electronic music with energetic drum sequences and mesmerising harmonies that ebb and flow between melancholy and joy.

Consisting of producer/β€˜synth head’ James Day and vocalist/guitarist Chris Francis, the alt-pop duo nudge artists such as Jamie XX, Moderat and Jon Hopkins as main influences.

With Day’s unorthodox, mesmerising production’s and Francis’ emotive lyrics and bewitching melodies, Sauvages are a two-piece destined to be at the top of your radar to check out.

**How was it recorded?**

The stages at Nozstock are permanent and well away from any public right of way. With no pre-publicity, we risked no audience gathering and ensured all acts were six or less (even though the rules say β€œworkers” can be groups of more than six). Nozstock normally takes place in July, so nobody expected anything to be happening on that site in October (and the site is owned by the farmer who puts on the event).

Acts arrived on-the-hour, every hour, in separate vehicles and were called forward, had their hands sanitised and checked in with Nozstock's own Test & Trace QR code.

Whoever had to handle the equipment was the person providing it – so there were no back lines and mics/stands/cables were provided by the band. Once they were set up, the band left the stage and Andrew (the only person from the ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ) then mic’d up the guitars, drums and fed the stage monitors (while wearing a face mask!). The stages were marked two metres apart – and, after the bands used their own mics for an interview, they got back into their vehicles and left. A couple of people from Nozstock then sanitised the whole stage before telling the next group it was safe to leave their vehicle and set up. Any band members wanting to watch/listen to the performance would have to virtually.

To keep staffing to an absolute minimum, these sessions were audio mixed and video edited remotely.
