Reparations debate in Grenada
The protests in the US after the murder of George Floyd in 2020 rippled around the world – including the Caribbean, where many started to take a fresh look at their history of slavery. The last island in the Caribbean to set up a national commission on reparations for slavery was Grenada, in 2021. The family of the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ's Laura Trevelyan were absentee slave owners on Grenada - and she went to the island to explore her family's past, and the connections with the present. Laura worked with the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ's Koralie Barrau, Bill McKenna and Stephen Greaves for this special World News America report.
