Roe v Wade: My experience of an abortion after a sexual assault
Millions of women across the US could soon lose their legal right to abortion, according to a leaked Supreme Court document. The document, published by Politico, suggests the country's top court is poised to overturn the 1973 decision that legalised abortion nationwide.
As women risk losing their legal right to an abortion, a woman recounts her experience of seeking an abortion in Alabama after becoming pregnant following a sexual assault from a co-worker in 2017. She says inititally she wasn't aware that she was going to be able to access or afford the procedure, being based in a the very conservative state of Alabama at the time, but once she discovered this would be possible, this relieved some of the trauma she had been experiencing after the assault.
