Alabama: Hunt is on as prisoner and guard disappear together
US police are searching for an escaped inmate who is facing murder charges, and a guard who may have helped him. Inmate Casey White and corrections officer Vicki White were last seen on Friday morning at the Lauderdale County Sheriff's Office in Alabama. Ms White said she was taking him to a mental evaluation, but officials later realised it had not been scheduled.
Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ reporter Terry Egan says that Vicki White has been with the department for about 25 years. As Casey White is considered a dangerous prisoner, she should have been accompanied by two deputies, but that did not happen. It's not known at this time whether Ms White helped the prisoner, or whether she has been taken hostage. Police are concerned that Casey White may have access to the guard's gun, meaning he is armed as well as dangerous.
"Everybody is shocked that she's missing, she's been an exemplary employee."
