Brigene McNeilly’s brother, Bryan, has been in Muckamore Hospital in Northern Ireland for 34 years. He has been fit for discharge for 25 years. For a quarter of a century his family have been fighting to get him released. He has been offered several facilities, but they haven’t been able to meet his needs.
Since Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ News revealed that there are 100 people with learning disabilities who've been detained in a hospital for more than two decades - families have come forward to speak of their own experiences.
