β€œWounds” is a poetic dance film that follows the journey of a survivor experiencing domestic abuse. The narrative explores an emotionally abusive relationship through movement, exposing the violence of this often invisible form of domestic abuse while providing an empowering ending to those trapped in these cycles. This film is staged in six parts; spanning from love-bombing to PTSD and eventual personal growth. While every journey of domestic violence is different, "Wounds" is curated from the director's real-life experiences allowing for a narrative that can be understood by survivors universally. This film aims to empower all survivors and create a nuanced conversation around all forms of domestic violence. "Wounds" was shot during the Covid-19 Pandemic, at a time in which domestic abuse rose in the UK by 24% - further emphasising the necessity of a piece such as this.
