Michael Gove says Government will fail 2019 Tory voters unless it delivers on Levelling Up

The government will β€œfail” people who voted Conservative in 2019 unless it delivers on its promise to β€œlevel-up” the country, according to Michael Gove. Speaking to the ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ in Grimsby in North East Lincolnshire this week, the Secretary of State for Levelling Up said it was β€œabsolutely critical for the country” and while there was no β€œinstant-fix” the government couldn’t afford to go slow. Tomorrow, on the 2nd February 2022, the Government will unveil plans to tackle regional inequalities, which will focus on handing power money down from Whitehall to towns and communities with the creation of more elected local leaders. He told ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ Political Correspondent, Alex Forsyth, that long term investment is needed in order to help level up towns like Grimsby. Listen to that exclusive interview here.
